Corals (and other deep-sea invertebrate life) exhibit a curious blend of plant and animal traits. Rather than being a single entity, they are actually communal organisms: cooperative amalgamations of thousands of microscopic animals called polyps. Their ethereal, skeletal forms also convserve expensive resources. The forms in this project were achieved by combining the control offered by direct editing of arbitrary surfaces with the spontaneity of streamline simulations of particle flow.

Selective laser sintered nylon, pigment, soluble copper.
